This hybrid bilingual children's book features my signature Read ~ Color ~ Learn Method that youngsters love. Featuring A REAL LIFE PIG I rescued from an abandoned yard, the storyline gives a nod to my street rescue work as well as the acceptance of different personalities into one's family.
Here's the true aspect of this short story. On a day when 6 pups occupied my dog boarding & training yard, they roared simultaneously with excited barking. Wondering what suddenly caused the ruckus, I peered out the window. In the adjacent yard of an unoccupied home, I saw a strange obese dog in a grey sweater.
"Impossible!" I thought, "On a hot summer day, it's silly for new neighbors to dress their pooch that way." Upon a close-up investigation by peering directly over the fence, I burst out in laughter. The medical condition of my eyes deceived me! Behold, there was a medium-sized potbelly pig drinking water from a pot previous tenants left behind.
I cared for the young swine, whom I called Señor Oinx, while trying to find him a home. My local vet gave me a sedative to hide in his food in an attempt to get him into a crate for rehoming. With the help of a family with 4 teenage sons, that afternoon became comical. They were chasing the medicated pig towards me as I held down extra-large crate on my knees with the door open. The piggie ran a thousand miles an hour, seemingly. The volunteer crew couldn't catch him at all! Round & round they all kept running & diving onto the grass as Senor Oinx darted towards me. He ran directly into the crate then just as quickly, Oinx busted through the very top of the dog crate! I remembered how freakishly strong he was.
Senor Oinx's capture reminded me of the wonderful wrestlingy community I was comedically a part of. I asked a Peruvian wrestler friend of mine to do the artwork to enhance my active story. This artist is selling copies in Peru while I sell them on my US site
