Seren the Newbie

Seren is the New Generation Representative of

12 Paws Foundation Wellness Haven

I rescued my Labrador Retriever/Unicorn Mix while I was still mourning the sudden loss of big, fluffy Nala. If I WANTED a pet, then it was definitely too soon to get another one. But since I NEEDED a Replacement Service Dog to maintain my independence. That's what made the difference!

My favorite word is serendipity. It is defined as stumbling across sudden happiness.  That's the quick emotion I feel when I'm in the presence of dogs. They are my why. So, I named my new 6-month-old new Shelter Dog "Serendipity."  It's been a year and a half, and I'm proud to announce that my Serendipity has passed my Service Dog  Training Program.

Seren was a handful & then some. Still in grief over losing 3 dogs unexpectedly in 3 years, I thought that perhaps my time was up with working with dogs.

But noooo, 2020-2023 became a time of rest, reflection, tears, healing, & growth in areas I never would have imagined.  I emerged out of this period with bodacious PEACE.

I flew Seren from Washington, DC, to Atlanta, GA, to be influenced by Vana Banana, 12 Paws Foundation's Service Dog veteran

Seren has fearless skills!
